I’ve been making art my whole life,
not just to decorate things, but to make sense of them.
I’m Jason Van Horne, a graphic designer and illustrator specializing in cartoon-driven, alternative-culture branding. My work blends retro illustration, character design, and narrative thinking to help brands stand out without pretending to be something they’re not.
My path wasn’t linear. I’ve worked in print shops, galleries, screen printing, film sets, fabrication, and design studios—learning how ideas survive contact with the real world. That hands-on background taught me something that most branding advice overlooks: design only works when it respects both people and production.
I work with brands that feel overlooked, misunderstood, or boxed in by “safe” visuals, especially youth, indie, and alternative businesses that want personality without losing professionalism. Through characters, bold graphics, and story-led systems, I help them turn confusion into clarity and attention into trust.
My mission is simple:
to help people see their story clearly—
and communicate that story in a way others can flock toward.
If your brand has a voice but hasn’t found its face yet,
You’re in the right place.
